As a successful community based Acapella choir in Sydney, our members are often asked questions about singing. Here are a few of the more popular questions that might be of interest to you if you are considering singing in a choir.
Q: Will I be good enough?
If you can sing Happy Birthday to friends, and they can recognise the tune, you will most probably be good enough!
Q: Do I HAVE to be a “singer”?
You don’t have to be an amateur or professional singer to join our choir, as long as you can sing in tune, you’ll be fine!
Q: Can anyone learn to sing properly?
Just about everyone can be taught to sing, but it can take more time and dedication for some, than others.
Q; Everyone says I can’t sing!
You won’t know until your try singing with us, you might be surprised! Most people can be taught to sing, so if you are determined to learn, why not come along and give it a go?
Q: How long before I notice an improvement in my singing?
Everyone is different and every voice is unique. With practice, you will be able to understand your voice better and over time, if you spend time practicing singing, your voice will improve.
Q: I love this so much, why did it take me so long to join the choir?
We don’t know, maybe you didn’t think you were good enough!
Q: Can I have a free tryout to see if it’s right for me?
Absolutely! We would love for you to come along and try out for our choir.
Q: When is the best time to join?
Anytime really, but when NSW Govt School terms commence, we get back to singing in the choir, so that’s probably the best time for you to come along, particularly if you’re nervous about singing.
